The Ivory Club of Tampa – Looking Back
The Ivory Club of Tampa is an organization of African Professionals living and working in the Tampa Bay area. The organization was founded in 1993 and is made up of Africans who lived their early lives in several different African countries before moving to the U.S.A.
Origin of The Ivory Club of Tampa Bay
A discussion among four friends led to the formation of the club in 1993. These founding members served as the foundation executive council. Membership grew slowly in the early days with members predominantly from West Africa, and a few members from East and Southern Africa.
